In times of tightening markets, friends often become rivals, the competition gets fiercer, and the erotic industry is no exception to this rule, unfortunately. DVD companies will have to weather a strong headwind, as free online offers will continue to erode the sales figures. Legal download programmes are faced with the same dilemma because it is hard to yield sound turnover when the online market is swamped with free content.
Not so long ago, sex toys and lingerie were considered the silver bullet, the magical cure for the erotic industry. Now, we see that the professional criteria of the industry also apply to this market: The consumers want quality, not only with respect to the products themselves, but also when it comes to marketing. Great service and great promotion are pivotal in the current market situation.
I’d like to seize this opportunity to thank you on behalf of the entire team: We are deeply grateful for the trust you’ve shown us, our publishing house, and our second little project, the eroFame trade convention. Without our old and new business friends, without our readers and loyal companions, we would never have achieved any of this. A special thank you goes out to the advisory board of eroFame, whose untiring personal commitment to the organisation and optimisation of the event cannot be praised enough.
Not least of all due to their efforts, the new concept has caught on incredibly fast, and now eroFame is considered one of the most important b2b events in Europe. Germany only needs one trade show, and that show is eroFame. In order to live up to the standards of quality we’ve set for this event, we won’t be giving away exhibition space for free, or be offering it at varying prices. We clearly distance ourselves from our competitors in this field. We won’t be copying concepts either, and we won’t collect votes on Facebook – we will simply rely on the quality of our exhibitors and the event itself.
We will face the challenges of the coming months, and we are certain that – in keeping with the old industry mantra - a fair price-quality ratio will prevail. We are looking forward to tackle this new year with you, the exhibitors and visitors of eroFame, our business partners, and the readers of our EAN and eLINE magazines.
